Niki,

My exploration of the blogosphere began in a similar fashion; as a SM assignment while doing my post grad in PR & Corporate Communications.

Now a communicator in the field and a social media strategist, I encourage students to really dive into this emerging area of PR with enthusiasm. There is no area easier to become an expert in than social media. For the first time, young PR pro's are commanding a room of senior exec's-- the roles can be reversed, your career propelled, if you take the reigns on this trend.

Cheers!

I've never spent much time with the old Xbox interface, and none with the new one. But from what I've seen it does look a lot like the Wii UI, especially the avatars. I always thought the old "blade" UI was pretty slick, but may not have been real intuitive. I think that whatever they can do to make the system more accessible is going to help them in the long run. Even if it hits a little close to the Wii front. Hey, the greatest form of flattery is imitation right?

Ohhh... I love Harvest Moon! How's Island of Happiness, is it any good? That chicken is too cute. Although, I must admit that I hate pre-orders.

Rock Band is a great game...better than Guitar Hero in my opinion. Though, the Guitar Hero guitars are much more comfortable. Yeah, I hadn't been in the library in a while and was pleasantly suprised to see the selection of video games. You'll have to tell me the next time they have an event!

It's funny that you mention this because I've worked on several events where the Science Library has provided video games. They're really pushing the academic benefits of video games, it's been pretty cool. Personally I've been wanting to check out Rock Band for a while :)

One more thought. How much did it cost Sony to pull the game after already having it delivered to most stores? I bet it cost a bundle! Probably not worth the extra press.

@Droz

Just wanted to follow up quick. Indeed controversy can always attract more press, but when the news broke Little Big Planet was already one of the most talked about games for the PS3, or any current gaming system! I don't think the extra press helped them that much. Not to mention that the controversy would still have existed had they released a patch. The only difference would have been the response. Just my two cents.

Droz, I think you make a really good point. Even if the press was bad press, I agree that it probably created a lot of hype about the game. As I stated, we sold out all our copies in one day, and are still selling up to this point. So, I think you make a very valid point. Thanks for reading, hope to see you again!

I agree with a lot you say Tristan. The fact that they pulled the game and then released a patch as well still baffles me. Thank you for commenting!
